Fatou Bessem (b. 2000, Lawrenceville, GA) is an Afro-Surrealist painter who lives and works in Atlanta, GA. Her works explore Black Femininity and the performance of womanhood through analytical dissections inspired by baroque and religious allegories. Bessem holds a BFA from the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design.

Bessem's work has been exhibited in multiple galleries such as The Bakery Atlanta's South Downtown Gallery, Ernest G. Welch Gallery, Hidden Gallery 333, Echo Contemporary Art, and Dalton Gallery. She also has experience as a gallery technician and curator.
